Review of Inside Out (2015) by Grace H — 09 Jan 2016
Pixar is back, and this return could not be better, because that good old magic of his films that picked us up in his many classics, that magic came back and at full strength I would say. Everything about this film is genial more'll try to explain to you the contents of this masterpiece.
The main thing to say is that this is the most creative idea that Pixar ever had and also the most well executed. What they did was create a whole universe about how our mind works, all through a 11 year old girl named Riley and their primary emotions: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust.
Riley is headed by Joy, then her life has always been very happy, until one day she and her family move because his father got a new job. There are many changes and adaptations that this girl has to go, and then her emotions do not know how they will keep it normal as before, there comes a very serious accident, and Joy and Sadness end up accidentally leaving the control booth, where they operate her mind, and they will have to return quickly to save the consciousness of Riley.
First of all this emotion and even Riley themselves are extraordinary characters, and all are dubbed with extreme talent all over the voice cast that includes Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Mindy Kalling and Bill Hader, all very well in their performances.
But the highlight of the film is the script, it is not only intelligent but also well written and full of great ideas, why we forget something we do not want or why horrible songs stick in your head are all things so complex explained as simply and efficiently as possible.
Of course do not forget that as animation of Pixar, the film has a very relevant message to our society about dealing with depression, and it also moves a lot, so much that in the most exciting or saddest moments, you will get enough heartbroken or even crying, in my case I cried like hell right, there is a scene in particular that left me totally touched, and if you do not at least get emotional, you have no heart, there are times when I did not cry in a movie, it really was a lot of emotions for a movie alone.
Technically the film is all that is expected of it, after all this studio is synonymous with quality in this matter, so the visuals are gorgeous, especially in the use of colors representing every moment of the film, for example in happy times everything is strongly colored, already in sad moments to darker shades.
The characters are visually beautiful and visual concept of the scenery is stunning, everything seems very real even the appearance being somewhat cartoonish within the Riley mind. The soundtrack is delightful, another victory for Michael Giacchino now shown in other films like the latest "Jurassic World" or "Up", which won the Oscar.
It is pleasant to hear, has incredible melodies and further helps the film's time to thrill the viewer. As for the 3D movie he's cute as any animation you have, but if you want to dismiss him no problem.
Of all the films I saw in 2015, Inside Out is not only one of the best, but was also one of the few where I had high expectations, and they were not only overcome, I saw a film that does not expect to be so striking and profound for me, I felt so much seeing him that is a feeling that I will never forget.
For these and other reasons I'm not afraid to say that Inside Out is the best movie of all Pixar, surpassing even the great classics of them and taking shape as one of the best animations of all time.
An instant classic that I plan to revisit again and again at home, and already consider the winner of best animated 2015 Oscar and maybe even more than that. Do not miss the opportunity to see it!
