Review of Inside Out (2015) by Dan W — 10 Jan 2016
Can't believe I haven't written a review on this yet. This little piece of gem is one of Pixar's best yet. I was given the chance to attend Ronnie del Carmen's talk about Inside Out (too bad Pete Docter wasn't there!) and I could really see the tremendous passion and effort (and pixie dust) it took to create this one of a kind and one of the most imaginative movies I've ever seen.
When I was young, I also thought that there were different personalities inhabiting inside my mind but I never envisioned the intricate "laws" the mind had unlike the Pixar team. The casting was perfect, the storyline was close to flawless (okay maybe not all but you never noticed the minor flaws like how Broccoli was the only culprit vegetable but never mind.
..) and it had a lot of heart. This was actually more of a movie for adults in the sense Toy Story 3 was also targeted more at adults as well. I just reallly loved it. It's definitely a movie that I'll never get tired of watching.
So kudos Pixar team, what a great cinematic artwork you've given us.
