Review of Inside Out (2015) by Jamie M — 03 Mar 2016
Inside Out was not enjoyable enough to be memorable, said my brother, when he came out of the cinema disappointed by the film back in June. But I was deep in thought. I like all Pixar films except *cough Cars 2 cough* but this just worked on so many levels.
I felt that, even as a boy, I could relate to this film, and feel every drop of emotion the filmmakers were trying to make us feel. This film is an absolute wonder of a film, with fast pace, great jokes, but more than that, it had a heart.
A real heart that kind of wraps you into the film, until the tear jerking ending that I found myself the only one crying in my family. I have the film on DVD now, and every time I watch it, new layers of emotion and storytelling and meaningfulness are added.
A timeless classic.
