Review of Inside Man (2006) by Joshua J — 13 Aug 2013
Watching this in 2006, takes a lot away from the twist, because over the years, I've seen countless twists that could put M. Night Shamalamadingdong to shame. However, taking the movie into context, this is actually a very good and smart movie.
At times it does tend to confuse you, but only for a minute. A very intelligent heist film that is made better by great performances by Washington and Owen. I read somewhere that Clive had problems at first, trying to portray the character through a mask, but I think he nailed all of his scenes, with a subtle yet intimidating menace.
Jodie Foster was good in it, though it wasn't exactly a role that could only have been played by her. All in all, a very nice movie that will keep you thinking, with a nice little finish at the end.
Take some time out of your week to watch this. 8/10.
