Godawful. you know the lead character -- he of the title -- is bad when you find yourself wishing he would just get it over with and kill himself already. and I started wishing for this guy to get hit a bus about halfway through, he was so thoroughly unlikeable while also unfathomably untalented. surprisingly, given the amazing job the coens did with oh brother where art thou, the music in inside llewyn davis mostly sucks, especially the somgs sung by davis, which the coens allow him several full 3 or 4 minute renditions. the man flat out cant sing. certainly not well enough to earn the loving full length treatment here.
Really, don't buy the coen hype from the critics. this one is a stone cold turkey.
