I'm going to draw some hate from fans of this movie for what I'm going to say here. This will be short, because I just can't muster up the interest or desire to write a full review of Inside Llewyn Davis.

Put simply, I found the movie boring. The film is about a struggling musician in 1961. In 9 words I've summed up the whole plot of the movie, there is literally nothing special that occurs. He crashes on people's couches, he plays some music, he struggles to make any money, he impregnates women with his sexual irresponsibility (everything you'd expect in the story of a struggling musician.

) Every time an exciting or interesting opportunity presents itself we are removed from that situation and continue to follow this kid's boring life. Honestly, all the acting performances are just great, the look of the film is good, and I love the music.

Frankly it had everything it needed except an interesting script. Following any other character in the film for a week would have made for a better story, but instead we're stuck with Llewyn. I can't say I hated the film because that would imply entirely too much emotion.

There wasn't enough movie there to get me that riled up. I simply watched it, enjoyed a few tunes, and odds are I will forget I ever saw it someday because it utterly failed to connect with me in any way shape or form.
