Review of Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) by Nathan H — 13 Jan 2015
The Coen brothers latest is a story set in the folk music scene in NY during the 60s. Oscar Isaac is another little known actor hand picked by the brothers to lead their movie and he is excellent as the struggling musician.
Somewhat inspired by a Greek myth (like their other musical O'Brother...) this has all the Coen film ingredients - strange characters, OTT dialogue delivered with a straight face and cool visuals.
Maybe a bit too weird for main stream audiences but for those looking for something different this is a good choice.
