Review of Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) by Hakeem J — 21 Apr 2015
Oscar Isaac has quickly won me over as one of the most solid performers of the screen today. His melancholic performance as struggling folk singer Llewyn Davis is angeringly good.
This movie pulls no punches, it delivers a fresh dose of relentlessly depressing beginnings, middles, and ends. With some beautiful songs to really get those sad juices flowing.
I'm a realist, I love films that portray realism, and this film delivers in spades.
