Fascinating as a period piece, and some wonderful performances by Oscar Isaac, with great contributions by Justin Timberlake and Adam Driver. Also many bits of quirky, dark humor as befits a Coen Bros film.
But also grim and unrelenting in its portrayal of a hard - knock musician's life.
