Review of Inside Job (2010) by Sandra W — 14 May 2011
Another great documentary in a long list of films that I have seen this year. From Inside Job to Waiting for Superman to Exit Through the Gift Shop to many others, this has been one of the more powerful years for documentaries.
This movie will bother you quite a bit. From blatant lying to the disastrous decisions (some deliberate/some unintentional), the financial collapse of 2008 is dissected in this film. I liked that both sides of the equation were interviewed, giving both of them a chance to answer to the common man.
You don't always get that in such politically charged movies like this but Inside delivers. There is a lot of technical language used in this movie, like the definition of derivatives and credit default swaps, etc.
, that can become confusing and mind-numbingly boring so be prepared for a very intellectual film to invade your mind. But it is powerful and enlightening to some degree. After watching it you will be shocked but also will still have quite a few questions about the whole situation.
