Review of Inside Job (2010) by Mohit A — 19 Feb 2013
Narration and tempo were slow. A bit too strong with the self-piety. I do appreciate how the "cultural" abuses on Wall Street (drugs, prostitutes, etc) were exposed. The systematic explication of the interrelated networks in finance (investment banks, insurers, credit rating agencies, etc) was excellent.
The takedown of "professional" economists (Laura Tyson, Larry Summers, Fred Mishkin, Glenn Hubbard) was great--though Damon's interviews with these folks seemed like bit of a hatchet job.
Would have liked more info on finance's influence in DC, plus steps the US could take to fix the problem / examples from other countries that got it right.
