Review of Insanitarium (2008) by David G — 22 Jan 2009
Clever horror film does a lot with a low budget while incorporating sub-genres into a nifty mix. Ends up being not quite as predictable as you'd expect. Also, fantastic performances by character actors Peter Stormare and Armin Shimerman earn the movie some well-deserved respect, and it's possible that "Lost" actress Kiele "Razzledazzle" Sanchez may be on the rise.
Keep in mind the word "homage", and watch for the (sometimes) subtle shout-outs to past masters.
