Review of Innerspace (1987) by Joao De B — 12 Nov 2011
4 stars for Joe Dante's great 80's film: Innerspace. Martin Short is Jack Putter a bumbling, paranoid, hypochondriac shop worker who gets mixed up in a secret experiment gone bad. Dennis Quaid is Lt.
Tuck Pendleton, who is the pilot of a pod that is miniaturised and scheduled for injection into a rabbit. Cue the bad guys who break into the lab to steal the miniaturisation technology. After a chase and a scientist is shot, Tuck is injected into the nearest passer by.
Yep, you guessed it, our hypochondriac friend, Jack. Here begins a rollercoaster ride of survival, as Jack and Tuck have to work together to retrieve the stolen technology before Tuck runs out of air.
Itâ(TM)s a great comedy romp with some decent stunts and effects for its time. This is a great family adventure full of laughs and action. Martin Short is at his comedic best and Dennis Quaid at his peak.
Dante keeps the pace on overdrive and has made a timeless little comedy thatâ(TM)s fun for all the family.
