Review of Innerspace (1987) by Cj O — 28 Jul 2012
Overstuffed, my ass! This film is an original sci-fi masterpiece, in my opinion, because it DOES blend it's genres well and it never, ever takes itself too seriously. Both Martin Short and Dennis Quaid do fine work here, Short plays a man with a miniature Dennis Quaid floating about inside him.
It's an amusing premise that sets up some wildly hilarious moments, some nifty action scenes, as well as some genuinely suspenseful sequences. This is the perfect example of a film where everything you wouldn't expect to work.
.. does, wonderfully so.
