Review of Inland Empire (2006) by Keiichi F — 16 Apr 2009
I've seen some weird films in my days, but NOTHING compares to this weird THREE HOUR creation. I have no clue wtf was going on 98% of the time and as far as I can see, it's just drivel. Maybe I need to see it again after having a near-death experience with Class-A drugs? The performances are powerful, the tone is eerie and dark, the pace is deliberately disturbing and disorientating... but I just don't get it!! Some cursed Polish film malarkey?... who knows!?
If I was to direct a film, I would love to do what Lynch did and just go wild with ideas, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily gonna be any good.
