Review of Inland Empire (2006) by Niall M — 26 Jul 2008
Aside from the final song and a brave performance by Laura Dern, this has nothing to recommend it and is painful to watch. Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks were brilliant, but Inland Empire lacks any semblance of coherence or continuity and gives the viewer little reason to keep watching.
A scriptless, plotless 3 hours of random, disconnected, senseless scenes shot on handheld camera. No thank you.
