Review of Inland Empire (2006) by Carl W — 14 Sep 2008
I dont doubt that there is a whole lot contained within this film but I got a feeling that all contained therein hasn't been put together in an intelligent/thought provoking manner.
It could easily be passed as a student film, albeit an incredibly long one. Without Lynch's name it would just be accredited as pretnetious shite. It is amazing what one man's name can do to get a film made.
Very intangible to say the least, but I do like the foray into digital and it is certainly very creepy and technically accomplished. The sound as througout all his films is great. An experience to say the least.
