Review of Inland Empire (2006) by Itamar K — 14 Nov 2009
In many ways, Inland Empire is the ultimate David Lynch movie. Despite the disjointed storyline and disorientating camera tricks, I still found it somehow more coherent than Mulholland Drive, even if the runtime of nearly three hours makes it a pretty harrowing and exhausting experience.
On a side note, it's great to see Lynch working again with several wonderful actors who were with him in his earlier years - Grace Zabriskie, Harry Dean Stanton and of course Laura Dern. I just wish Jack Nance was still around...
