Review of Inland Empire (2006) by John H — 08 Jul 2011
A movie that really leaves it up to yoo to figure out whats real and whats not. I've watched it a few times now and really only have my own idea, as which was probably lynch's intentions on this flick.
I think this movie is made for you to draw your own conclusions. 3 different worlds going on at once with no particular order of things, you need to stick with the original idea of the gypsy folklor tale to really determine where you are currently in the film.
You got a movie star getting a role in a movie that was supposedly "damned" and shelved after it was originally attempted to be made years prior, a woman who appears to be a prostitute or "whore" as she says, and the actual gypsy tale being played on and off again through the current characters from the other previous tales, or so thats what I think is going on anyway.
I wont post my full thoughts on what I really think is going on here until I watch it a few more times to see if I still feel the same way.
