Inland Empire was a positive surprise to me. I was warned it would be totally surreal so my concentration for this 3-hour-long movie was extremely high. And it was necessary!
David Lynch gives references throughout the entire movie about what is going to happen. It needs concentration because if you miss those references you'll not be able to hang on.
Actually I'm not sure if my interpretation of this movie was correct but I have to admit that David Lynch is a very special director.
It's difficult to know who will like this movie or who won't. One thing is sure: you need to be awake to the fullest.
