Review of Inkheart (2008) by Jeremy H — 20 Apr 2011
After reading the first two novels of this series of books, Inkheart and Inkspell I thought I would go back and watch this movie again. In a way I am sorry I did. It is a well acted children's film with a talented cast.
The screenplay deviated too much from the end of the novel for them to think of trying to do Inkspell even though they mention certain aspects of it in this film. I loved the idea of this story though.
Being able to read characters to life and bring them into existence. The novels are beautifully written with wonderful rich characters and enough action to keep any child (or in my case adult) interested.
To see it crammed into this film was truly sad.
