Review of Inkheart (2008) by Dielle S — 23 Dec 2012
With an interesting idea based off of Cornellia Funke's best-selling children's novel, an okay story, a fine script filled with alright dialogue by David Lindsay-Abaire, a great cast that includes Brendan Fraser, Helen Mirren, Andy Serkis, Paul Bettany and a special cameo by Jennifer Connelly, fascinating directing by Iain Softley (K-Pax), lots of book references, amazing visual effects and a slow but good pace and flow, Inkheart will have children dazzled of books coming to life while teaching them that imagination is the most powerful thing in the world.
