Ridiculous exercise in tedium. I can't imagine a more unappealing character than the one Joacquin Phoenix plays, and plays badly. There are a few funny moments in it, but for the most part it's false, pretentious, and ridiculous.
Seriously; this is what allegedly smart, indie films have become? This is now what passes for good cinema? Phew.
