Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Atomicdog — 11 Jan 2015
The film making exhibited here is superb, and the acting is great from a stellar cast. However, the incoherence of the plot kind of sucks the life out of it. I am told that the source material is similar so I guess in that respect its just faithful the Pynchon novel.
However, in this respect it is fairly typical of a lot of films these days, it seems very hard for someone to make a film with a clearly presented story, and it means that in the end the film ambles to an uncertain finish.
