Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Liz B — 31 Jan 2015

I'm sure some of my friends will really enjoy this movie on a completely other level than the way I tend to appreciate/ seek out enjoyment from a film. Unfortunately, I just found it too slow and disjointed.

..slightly embarrassed to say I actually fell asleep in the middle of this one. My husband says I was only out for about 15 minutes (and I kept waking up and dozing off), but I thought it must have been longer since I was so confused by aspects of the plot that I could only have assumed I missed.

Instead, he (who was awake the whole time) says that it didn't necessarily have significantly more connections or denouement. He was able to read more into it, and says that anyone would need to watch it more than once.

However, to be honest, I can't say that idea appeals to me. I just feel like the whole was less than the sum of its parts, and I'm not inclined to do the work myself to see it as otherwise. Shrug.
