Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Dee S — 19 Jan 2015
It is punishingly overly-long but it's fun seeing Joaquin Phoenix act like a goofball for a change.
It's a more over-the-top performance from an actor we haven't seen in a long while.
Taking place in the 1970's Doc is assigned to finding a missing real estate tycoon and it turns out that almost everyone is looking for him.
Each person that asks for his help points to the same thing involving money and drugs.
It'd be nice if the film's strings would tie together more that way it would be less of a hassle.
This is another one of Paul Thomas Anderson's productions and it should be fitting for fans of his work, just not everybody.
