Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by S Christian R — 22 Jan 2015
A more absurd and less plot driven Big Lebowski, Inherent Vice offers laughs in a strange way. The characters carry everything in the film, and while one could argue that it's easy to get lost, that's kind of the point.
Where it fails is the run-time and lack of cohesive plot. Even a slightly more interesting story would have done this justice, but instead we are treated to two and a half hours of bumbling idiots in the 70s.
While it's fun, it gets tiring a little more than halfway through. Go see it for Brolin if nothing else.
