Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Robert A — 30 Apr 2016
I started watching Inherent Vice and thought, "Wow! What a trip! I'm back in 1969. And then I remembered that it was a bad trip, a seedy grungy trip that deified drugged out lost souls as a kind of counterculture ramble.
..and that those times, though transitional, are best left behind. So is this self-indulgent, low energy non-compus mentis of a film. In the end, this overlong turkey should have been titled Incoherent Vice.
it is just the kind of tripped out fustian that critics would like and audiences would hate. And that was exactly the case.
