Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Spencer K — 20 May 2016

I am a fan of Paul Thomas Anderson and I always seem to be excited when a new film of his comes out. so of course, I was excited for this one. and I'll say I was a little disappointed. it definitely has the standard PT Anderson flair to it, and diehard fans of his should really like it.

I was just frustrated with its lack of a really coherent and linear plot. Joaquin Phoenix is perfectly casted Doc and gives a fantastic performance to boot. everyone else here is great, too especially newcomer Katherine Waterston who really shines here.

I didn't hate this movie, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I guess I just expected a little more.
