Review of Inglourious Basterds (2009) by Bryce I — 02 Oct 2013

It's a classic Tarantino type movie with his trademark violence, memorable soundtrack and entertaining characters, but to me this is a step down for the excellent director. I felt it dragged on forever, the pace stalls often and at 153 minutes it was a test of my patience.

I watched the whole movie, I'm glad I've seen it and the unrestrained violence leaves a lasting impression as do the cast performances which are unbelievably strong, but I truly feel Tarantino has gone on a dialogue overload and to my biggest surprise quite a lot of it is stale and lacks the wit that the majority of his other movies featured.
