Review of Inglourious Basterds (2009) by Dan M — 23 Jul 2015
I finally got to see this. I had to wait and see it by myself, as Shannon won't watch Quentin films because of the violence. I'm not big on war films and violence of any kind myself (to good buys or bad guys really), as I'm a pacifist, but watching the Nazis get destroyed was pretty enjoyable.
While this movie was more of a caricature of history, the film and the Nazi actors did a very good job making you seethe towards them. There were many scenes that just looking at the Nazis made my skin crawl.
..as it should of course. As I'm not a person who watches war films very often and when I do they tend to be about Vietnam, I have not had to watch Nazis in action very often and it was harder to watch than I thought it would be.
I guess all of that proves what a great job the filmmakers and actors did with the film.
