Review of Infinitely Polar Bear (2014) by Felipe F — 31 Jan 2016
Anyone who has had or lived with someone who has had mental illness will recognize the chaos of their apartment and the frustration and anger Ruffalo feels when it all gets past him at times. But his character's great charm and offbeat approach to the world gives his daughters a richness to their lives which in the midst of all the stress they are just beginning to understand and appreciate.
And we root for their mother, who with an MBA in hand, could elevate this resilient family financially and make their lives far less stressful, though never less interesting. It tackles these issues without a heavy hand and manages to get points made without getting too overwhelming emotionally.
It's a fine balancing act.
