Review of Infini (2015) by Tristan M — 12 Sep 2015
As soon as I saw the trailer for this movie I was stoked, seeing it a kinda Alien type movie with different creatures that would be like zombies. I was disappointed however with the outcome. The overall look of the movie is good, it's feels futuristic and looks that way, with good cinematography.
The effects are quite good, although I found the guns to be a little to much I think, and with poor sound effects. The acting wasn't great, and neither was the script, but both did do very well in the end when Wit suicides while talking over the loudspeaker.
That scene is for sure the best in the movie, and was one of the easiest to understand. This was a complex and confusing movie, from beginning to end the contagion isn't really described enough for us to understand it, and how people go crazy, start itching like crazy, or dying all happen for various reasons that doesn't get explained.
Why Wits eyes go red sometimes, and how he looses his mind and is seeing things, it's all just gets to much for our brains to understand. The ending makes no sense whatsoever, either, the best we can guess is that the alien contagion things that can for anything even into a human being, revived all the dead people somehow and they all went home not being surprised at all.
I thought it was going to be a little more scary, but the contagion thing certainly wasn't, the worst stuff would be the guys freaking out and picturing stuff and the camera showing random pictures.
Overall it was a good watch if you really pay attention to everything, which I didn't exactly as I was sleep deprived and barely awake. It's something different, complex, and the trailer alone bumps up the rating a bit by itself I think.
Could have been way better, and could see a sequel in the future.
