The book is an action adventure that teaches its readers art, history and culture as you flip the pages. The problem with the robert langdon films is that they decide to go with the action narrative and sacrifice on the adventure, history, art and culture aspects.
I believe most people who watched the movie who have yet to read the book will come out saying "Who is Dante again?".
