This is a poor adaptation of the book. If you want to make some changes to make it a "cinematic" experience, I understand that. And many of the changes to characters and plot within the movie make sense, but if you are making an adaptation the one thing you don't mess with is the ending.

Brown's ending while not happy was a nice change from the stories where everything is wrapped up in a neat bow and ultimately gets the reader thinking about what the consequences may be for the world.

Changing that ruins the story. I was very disappointed.
