Review of Inferno (2016) by The Movie G — 29 Oct 2016
Mixed feelings.
I didn't care for what I read about the percentage of what critics thought and read The book before I actually saw the movie, and I just recently spent the last week trying to finish up this book before seeing the movie.
Not just so I could necessarily see the difference between the two and how it was adapted, but I read the Da Vinci Code and I actually read Angels and Demons before that movie came out back in 2009, so I know the idea of what that character knows and I like how Tom Hanks plays it.
Obviously people should know that whether it be a video game to movie or even book to movie adaptation there's going to be changes, and I found some of them interesting and they were put in in proper spots that helped the storyline flow and be understood, but I felt a little bit of it was rushed and there wasn't as much history used or laid out throughout the movie to be used in conversation or to solve any of the puzzles as in the book, or even as much was used in Angels and Demons also.
I like to see who came out as the characters, and which names and words were pronounced the right way, from reading the book. Lol.
I do have the Divinci Code and Angels and Demons, in special editions on Blu-ray and I will be getting this one when it comes out as well.
Still a fun an interesting movie to watch, but part of me felt I would have liked a little bit more dramatic intensity during some scenes where they figure it out like in the book.
