Review of Infernal Affairs (2002) by Marcia A — 05 Feb 2011
Wow. Having seen this now I see that it's even more of a travesty that "The Departed" won the Oscar for Best Picture, considering it's basically scene-for-scene a remake of this film.
There's very minor variations--mostly for the better, I think, in "The Departed." However, the acting is much better in this (oddly enough) and Little Tony is a far more likable lead than Leonardo DiCaprio.
Also, I liked how Andy Lau played his character with more of a calculated and sinister approach, rather than the sniveling weasel that Matt Damon was. This is the better film. I'll have to check out the sequels.
