Review of Infernal Affairs (2002) by Oliver S — 12 Feb 2012
It was a well paced action film. However, the acting in the film was not as good as it was in the Departed. There was no character in Infernal Affairs like the SSG Dignam (Mark Wahlberg) in the Departed and that made all the difference for me.
Plus all the backstory in the Departed was better. In Infernal Affairs, the backstories were minimal. Plus the ending of the Departed was better than Infernal Affairs. If I had never seen the Departed first, I probably would have given this film a higher rating.
