Review of Infernal Affairs (2002) by Marie Y — 30 Dec 2013

I seriously feel like more people need to see this movie. It is the film on which Scorsese's The Departed was based, and I feel that it was far more nuanced and meaningful than the American version ended up being.

I mean, I love DiCaprio and Damon and Nicholson, but Infernal Affairs was just so much subtler, succinct. I watched The Departed first and liked it well enough, but after seeing the original, it felt like The Departed was too heavy-handed, clumsy, in comparison.
