Review of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) by Dathan R — 07 Jul 2012
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a great sequel to the the cinematic treasure that is Raiders of the Lost Ark. Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of Steven Spielberg's greatest maaterpieces, and is one of my favorite films ever made.
Temple of Doom is for sure a great film, but it doesn't have the characters that made the first film so great. I hated Kate Capshaw as Willy in this film, all she did was complain and get it Indiana's way and I just hate her.
Short Round has his fun little moments, but in retrospect his character is a huge asian stereotype. I still love Indiana in this film as he is always the smart and cool one, but he is great always. Harrison Ford is just a great actor always, he may have had one or two bad roles in his entire career and his role as Indiana Jones is as iconic as Han Solo.
Temple of Doom has some awesome booby traps and a really fun story, and although it doesn't live up to Raiders of the Lost Ark, its a great film in the Indiana Jones series.
