Review of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) by Blake S — 27 Jul 2013
The weakest Indiana Jones film prior to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I have to confess I'm constantly surprised that this one got a PG rating.
Let's face it, we have: child slavery, human sacrifice, flayed skin (in the windows in the background), people-getting-their-heart-torn-out-by-hand, voodoo dolls, Dr Jones getting (effectively) possessed, "chilled monkey brains" dessert, Alligators (in India?) eating people (alright, only their clothes) and so on.
On the plus side, we also have the mine-cart sequence and what has to be one of the most iconic scenes in adventure movie history: the rope bridge scene towards the end, with Indiana caught in the middle ...
