Review of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) by Yash B — 19 Aug 2014
It's not as good as "Raiders" but it is loaded with thrills. The dark and creepy tone of this movie might not seem fitting for an "Indiana Jones" film but the movie nails suspense.
It's almost more suspenseful than the first because of the way it's directed. The score is great yet again. Some of the effects are dated and the movie is bizarre in places but it manages to keep the audience consistently engaged.
Also it is important to know that this film is a prequel because you know Indy is going to make it out of this yet the suspense still works wonderfully. I think this is an underrated film. It definitely holds its own in the franchise and deserves recognition for the different direction it takes.
