Review of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) by Darren G — 27 Jul 2012
Without doubt my favourite of the series. Best plot, best cast, best chemistry - particularly between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery. Other flashes of brilliance include a young River Phoenix appearing to look and act more like Harrison Ford than Harrison Ford probably did at that age! He captures Harrison's mannerisms, expressions and even tone of voice perfectly in the early parts of the film, and reminds us all what a loss we suffered when his life was prematurely cut short in the early 90's.
Combine that heady mixture with a race for the Cup of Christ between Archaeologists and Nazi Germany and you have a film that will survive many generations to come.
