It's hard for me to give a "low" grade to one of my heroes. But just as Lucas botched the new star wars by forgetting what makes star wars great, so did Spielberg with this new installment.
The best part of Indiana Jones is his ability to keep his wits during fantastical moments, to navigate a path even when no path can be found. The last half of this movie had Indiana Jones simply spellbound, looking less hero and more bystander than could be remembered.
It's not the Dr. Jones I'm used to; if it weren't for the hat, I wouldn't have know I was even looking at him.
