Review of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) by Jared D — 05 Feb 2013
Anyone who wants this to be an Oscar worthy flick, will be sadly disappointed. This is just an old fashioned fun and gun type movie, with Indy as the superhero (who just happens to have plans that...mostly.
..go how he plans them). There are at least a couple of "Oh C'MON" moments in it (a fridge? Really?), but there is insanely incredible stuff occurring through all the Indy movies, if you want to nitpick.
This is a movie you watch for fun, and because you loved the original trilogy. It is somewhat review proof. Challenge: find all the pictures of previous characters in the movie (Jones Sr. and Marcus Brody are obvious, but there are others).
Also, was that a paraphrase of Connery's "bring a knife to a gun fight" line from "The Untouchables". I think it was, and of course, this means I watch too many flicks.
