Review of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) by James W — 31 Oct 2013
Ridiculously fun and way over the top, and that's just how I like it. Harrison Ford is back on form as Indiana Jones, alongside his original first flame Marion played by the immensely likeable Karen Allen and a whole load of other fantastic actors that add to the excitement.
The soundtrack, the action, the sound of the punches and the magical excitement all echo the previous 3 films, The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is a fine addition to an exceptional franchise which hasn't lost it's touch one bit.
I think Cate Blanchett is excellent as the Irena Spalko, Indy's latest enemy, she is genuinely a creepy baddy and you can tell Blanchett is having a blast playing on the bad side. With spectacular special effects and a wonderful adventurous tone that lasts the entire movie, this 4th instalment is a blast and a guaranteed good time, you'll be smiling throughout.
