As a newcomer to the series, I found this movie to be pretty disappointing after all I heard about the Indiana Jones franchise. The action was pretty good, but it was pretty much the only part of the movie that was pretty good (well, one surprise in the ending was pretty funny too, though I am not sure if that was intentional).
The story has more plotholes in it than Swiss cheese, to the point where every ten minutes me and my friend would laugh about one ridiculous plothole or another. Events happen that contradict all logic and characters have some weird ability to be exactly where the plot needs them to be without any logical explanation for them being there.
Some characters were also so pointless that one wonders why they were even in the movie. As an Action-Adventure movie, the action was pretty good but the adventure made no sense.
