Review of Independence Day (1996) by Charlie M — 12 Jun 2016
Aliens attack earth and man do they bring their stereotypes with them. From the spaceships ripped off from Space Invaders to the Aliens themselves with their tentacles. Do not fear America, the town drunk is an experienced fighter pilot, the President is a public speaker and motivational as well, he should sell on infomercials.
Then we have the hero whose family will miss him but when he returns they will hug and cry and his wife will say something like "You're alive, we're so glad you're home " followed by a romantic kiss.
Let's not also forget the stereotypical genius that nobody listens to that is required in every disaster movie. Want cheese? Watch "Mars Attacks " instead.
