"Independence Day" is a great science fiction action adventure popcorn flick. It has all the action and effects you could want, but it also has a straightforward and easy to follow story. Smith, Goldblum, and Pullman all give pretty solid performances.
It is hard not to enjoy this one, sure it is flawed, but for a fun sci-fi action movie, this works.
