Destroying the American monuments was comical, but most were donated as a gift after warfare. The extraterrestrials, or whomever was flying those FOs retreated afterwards. The film is damaged so it's no surprise the film studio wants new footage.

But clearly new footage has already been taken yet it's being released in the future? Why does this giant spaceship only attack America? How many hours do they need, and who exactly are the enslaved? Using superior technology to win the fight is a no-brainer, but it's not impressive.

The battle was rigged.
